Eyes may be the windows of the soul but sometimes the curtains can get a little faded. As we age and skin loses elasticity, the skin and tissue around the eye can begin to sag and wrinkle. With a simple walk-in, walk-out clinic procedure, you can restore the skin around your eyes to be smoother, softer and add youth to your appearance.
Whether you need eyelid surgery for medical reasons or you are looking for improvement to a problem area, COSMETIC 1 can walk you through the process and discuss your available options to achieve your desired outcome.
WHAT IS BLEPHAROPLASTY?
Blepharoplasty is the name for surgery performed on the eyelid and areas directly surrounding the eye. The surgery may involve incision and removal of excess tissue or repositioning of the tissue and skin to achieve the desired result. COSMETIC 1 uses laser surgery to perform this surgery to achieve a faster recovery, with less bruising and swelling.
Blepharoplasty can generally be divided into two main categories:
In some cases, eyebrow lifting may be needed in addition to eyelid surgery to fully achieve the effect you’re looking for. In some cases, the eyebrow can play a large part in sagging of the areas around the eye.
HOW CAN BLEPHAROPLASTY HELP YOU?
Whether you’re suffering from upper eyelid sagging, sun damage, or sagging of other skin around the eye, you may notice that you’re looking older than your years. In some cases, sagging can be genetic, despite all your attempts to maintain youthful looks.
Blepharoplasty can help you remove years and smooth the skin, while still allowing it to retain a youthful plumpness.
BLEPHAROPLASTY COST REBATES
If the skin of the upper eyelid rests on the eyelashes, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on your surgery. Talk to COSMETIC 1 about the rebates available for your personal situation.
HOW LONG IS THE BLEPHAROPLASTY RECOVERY PROCESS?
It is normal to experience swelling for several days after the procedure, with most patients returning to social activities after about one week. Sutures can be either dissolving or removed at a day 5 post-procedure check-up.
Although some swelling is normal, it usually disappears within the first few days and most patients can return to their normal social activities within a week, although if you have bruising it may take a few weeks to clear completely.
