BREAST ENLARGEMENT THROUGH FAT TRANSFER
When our patients consider breast enlargement, the first thing which generally comes to mind is breast implant surgery. In reality, however, this is not the only option available to women. Breast enlargement or augmentation through the use of fat transfer is emerging as a popular choice, especially for those who are looking for a minimal, natural looking increase. This treatment is also commonly known as fat grafting.
This fat transfer occurs when a patient’s own fat is extracted using a liposuction cannula from one part of the body (generally the waist, stomach or thighs) and injected into another part of the body to boost the fat volume. While this procedure is not limited to breasts – it can be used for the face and the buttocks as well – Melbourne based patients are turning to this minimally invasive breast augmentation option more and more.
WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?
Stem cells are basically your own cells that are relocated to another part of your body to become other cells. The stem cells have the ability to transform into blood vessels which the new fat cells need to thrive. Breast enlargement is achieved without having to resort to synthetic or unnatural materials and there is no chance of rejection because it is done using your own cells. They are simply being moved from one part of your body to another.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF FAT TRANSFER TO BREASTS?
Women like the idea of using their own tissue or fat cells instead of an implant and feel that this is the main advantage overall. Other advantages mentioned by our patients include the fact that the fat is removed from an area where they may not necessarily want it and that the breasts remain soft and natural after the procedure.
Fat transfer to breasts can occur during day surgery and there are generally fewer complications than with other breast enhancement options, like breast implants.
FAT TRANSFER MELBOURNE
As this procedure is not as well known for those seeking breast enlargement options, you need to ensure that you speak to someone who is experienced in fat transfer. Naturally not all cells will survive the transfer and the results of the graft take will seem less once the initial swelling goes down. Fat transfer with stem cells for breast augmentation purposes is just one option but as with any procedure, you need to be fully informed to see what will work for you.
Contact COSMETIC 1 for a consultation on fat transfer procedures and to discuss such issues as graft take and stem cell technology. Dr David Topchian will be only too happy to talk you through the procedure.
